Around the Club

Club house Security

To improve the general security of our facilities, and a further deterrent to potential burglars, the Club House has had a security system installed.  This does not mean however that you should consider the Club House a place to keep your equipment.

Range closed

Soon you will see a ‘Range is closed’ sandwich board sign set up on the target range to indicate that the range is closed to all archers between practice and Saturday club shoots.  Please recognise the sign and adhere to the no shooting rule when it is in use so that our Saturday club shoot can start on time.  Of course your assistance setting up the field will always be appreciated.

Position Vacant - Club Fund Raiser

Unfortunately our club fund raiser Alice Sparks will not be able to continue with the Fund raiser duties.  So the Club is looking for another member to step up to take on this responsibility.  The most significant and time consuming part of this role is purchase of canteen supplies; drinks, chocolates, beer, ice cream, chips etc.  If you would like to know more detail on the responsibilities of Club Fund Raiser please speak to Alice Sparks or Dave Sutton who have both done the role and can give you more info about the position.

Indoor Shed and Open Day

Mike has explained in some detail the plans for immediate use of the new indoor hall.

Your input and consideration for how you as members would like to get the best value from it is what we need now.

On the open day, Sunday 4 December, we would appreciate if club members attending the day could bring along a plate, or perhaps something like biscuits, chips, etc

Club Christmas Party

Our Club Christmas party is on Saturday 17 December and will host the regular fun shoot and Chicken and Salad lunch afterwards. We would again appreciate any contributions you might be able to make to the raffle draw.  Your support of this will be appreciated and adds another fun element to the day.

We will also be doing a mini working bee on Sunday 13 November to do final preparation of the Hall for the Open day.  More info on exactly what will be needed to be done closer to time.

Media watch

Expect to see a feature article in the next Archery Action magazine about Tom Hannay.  Tom will also be inducted into the Archery Hall of fame
